My musings

Sleeping Beauty

Newly wed Anamika looked lovely in the bright outfits adorning her slender frame.

She often slept longer than expected and her new family called her lazy, but her husband didn’t mind; he happily snuggled up next to her.

With each passing day she slept longer and longer until one day she was found perfectly still with a bottle of pills.

Her dreams were a place she met her lover, relived the past and fulfilled her desire.

Beautiful flash fiction. Why was she unhappy in her marriage to give up her life. Nice twist.

Thank you Abhijit. She wasn’t probably unhappy in her marriage, but may be she was more keen to set herself free..

Wow…just when I thought it was a happy love story, read the twist at the end! Didn’t see that coming! Many people are not able to come to terms with their past failures at love relationships.

Wow…what a twist? I really thought she was blessed to have a wonderful husband who didn’t mind her sleeping in and then…the ending! It was so tragic…You portrayed depression so well. Only if she could have overcome her grief with the help of a loving husband…only if…
